Since my father started D.C.Dalgliesh in Selkirk Back in 1947 we have amassed one of the largest collections of tartan samples in the world . So if there is a tartan out there is a tartan out there that you desire there is every possibility that we have woven it at some point. These can all be reproduced in modern colours (ie. Darker, deeper ,fuller colours) or in ancient colours ( ie. Lighter , softer colours ); in our medium weight 11 oz. cloth or in our heavy weight 15 oz. Cloth ; in single width 29 inches wide or double width 56 inches wide cloth all using 100% wool and using traditional weaving methods giving the edge of the cloth a traditional edge ideal for kilting. Because of this versatility we have the scope to weave material for the individual kilt or cater for the larger scale orders ,ie. Bands and the like.

Our K7 is the lighter of the two cloths we produce at 11 oz in weight. It is more commonly used to make trousers, ladies skirts and kilted skirts, neck ties and bow ties and more recently we have had customers using in the home for curtains, furniture coverings and bed throws.

Our K1 cloth is heavier at 15 oz in weight and this is what we refer to as our kilting material as we believe it makes a lovely finished kilt and so most of the material we make in this weight is used to make kilts, it can also be used foMungo Murray on a single width loomr trousers.

Both are produced using the finest 100% wool dyed to the highest quality at a local firm of dyers to meet the high standards we set ourselves and that are customers deserve
