We are one of the world's few weavers to offer short lengths of luxury spun silk in any tartan - from as little as five yards, or even a single sash!

We only use premium raw silk thread, with few of the slubs (cocoon remnants) that make cheaper dupion silk so coarse by comparison. And many silks today are printed, not woven; this costs less, needing far less skill and time, but has little of the same lustre. Purest silk is a difficult and time consuming material to work with, but the luxurious end product is worth all the effort.

Our pure silk woven tartans are ideal for skirts, sashes, shawls, ties & bow-ties, waistcoats, and more. We sew many such accessories ourselves.

We weave silk at 30 inches wide, in any length required. We can produce any tartan, but stock fewer shades of silk thread than wools, so will do our best to match your preferred shade.
